Vetter Completes Construction Phase at Ravensburg

New facility will contain high-tech labs and a new data center

Vetter has completed the first phase of construction at its Ravensburg Schuetzenstrasse site, which is expected to be fully operational in early 2016. The new facility will contain high-tech labs and workplaces for Vetter Development Service, as well as a new data center and additional office space totaling 8,500 square meters. The €26 million investment will support drug development, as well as enhanced company-wide IT systems to meet future requirements.

At its facilities in Chicago and Ravensburg, Germany, Vetter Development Service provides clinical drug development services, including pharmaceutical analysis, process development, and clinical trial supply. The new six-story building at the Schuetzenstrasse site will have lab space for microbiological analysis, and the new data center will have enhanced security systems and a safety cell that protects technology and data from external physical hazards, as well as a gas extinguishing system to minimize damage in the event of an emergency.

“With this new building, we are addressing the growing demand of our customers in the area of clinical drug development and manufacturing,” said Thomas Otto, a Vetter Managing Director. “Furthermore, with the installation of the sophisticated IT systems, Vetter will be well-prepared to meet future challenges that present themselves.”
